BSSF Council

Council members and how to contact them

They keep us ‘Council Members’ running like a well-oiled clock. Without their oversight, direction and advice we would soon begin to struggle. Ultimately, they listen to all of our ideas (which includes your ideas) and suggestions and make the final decision. They are also one of the main contacts for the international governing bodies and associations.

I'm Jambo Smith, newly appointed (albeit temporary) President of the BSSF.

I took on this role as I feel very passionate about racing Sleddogs and what the future holds for our sport.

I hope alongside the rest of the BSSF Council that we can implement the changes needed in order to become the Federation our membership rightly deserves and to be dynamic and evolve to benefit all of our members across all disciplines.

I originate from Airdrie, a small town south east of Glasgow. It's there where I started racing dogs and over the last decade or so I've migrated up to the Moray area and now own a small working kennel of Siberian Huskies and Hounds.

Over the last 6 years I've played an integral part on the Committee of the Sled Dog Association of Scotland (SDAS) the latter 4 years of which I've been Chairman.

I've competed in Mono and Team disciplines at both National and International levels throughout all organisations and look forward to continuing this for the foreseeable future.
