BSSF National Championship races 3 & 4 Rendlesham
Competitors from all over the UK gathered at Rendlesham Forest for a weekend of racing. The weather was mild, but cold enough to ensure that the 3.7 mile woodland trail could be completed by all the teams. Our junior members had either a 1.3 mile or a 2.1 mile course enabling them to race at their best.
With a mix of teams at the top of their game and some at the very beginning of their racing journey, there was a buzz of excitement and nerves in the air.
All classes had good entries and allowed for some great competition over the weekend. The DR6NB was a particularly great race to watch, with the top 3 classes within seconds of each other. Saturday finished with only 9 seconds between 1st and 3rd place! Day 2 found the finish area filled with spectators enjoying the competition and watching the results screens provided by What's My Time. Overall Stuart Murray won 1st place by mere seconds, with Paul Pateman in 2nd and Mary Carter in 3rd. Some truly fantastic competition.
Our mono sports classes were well represented and had some of the biggest classes ensuring tough competition for all.
The prize giving ceremony took place on Sunday afternoon. All podium positions received a medal and a prize from CSJ Specialist Canine Dog Food, such as CSJs salmon oil, turmertinc or fruit n mutt bars. We at the BSSF would like to thank everyone who attended the race. We hope you all enjoyed yourself and hope to see you again at Pembrey.
We would like to take the time to say a big thank you to our race sponsors CSJ. Their continued support has allowed us to deliver great prizes for our atheletes and keep all the canine in top shape. Big shout out also to What's My time ltd. They work so hard and provide a reliable and professional timing system. Thank you!
